Message: Very friendly staff and they communicated well on initial drop-off times of gravel. We have a difficult driveway, but I wasn't especially impressed with the equipment's ability to simply climb the driveway itself or how much work needed to be done to spread the gravel with our tractor after they'd left. Gaps between runs and pile dumps in somewhat inaccessible locations made it less effective than I'd hoped. The smaller truck left the driveway a complete mess which necessitated re-spreading part of the driveway myself (with old gravel) to ensure that our vehicles could get out. We've used other company's trucks that had rear lockers that didn't have the same tendency for swaying (better suspensions) nor getting stuck. Not being able to get all of the gravel delivered on the same day was also problematic to our schedule. It was to be drawn out over 3 weekends which was time we didn't have to spare.. I don't think the mediocre review is really a statement towards the staff, their product, nor their intent to provide service, but it probably is more indicative of their trucks being suited towards smaller one-run, flat jobs than the 100, 000 lbs of gravel our driveway needed. I have gone to Abiqua in the past to pick up barkdust and was pleased with the loading and customer service, but this particular experience didn't seem worth the money or effort.
